Another lost Sheltie

Post by Val H on Wed 02 Mar 2016, 12:21

I've copied this from the Dogslost facebook page (with the owners permission) as the actual Dogslost page is down at the moment. Don't know if there is anyone in that area that can help or advise. Just hate hearing of these poor babies getting lost. Couldn't bear it if it was mine!  I have some photos which I will try to post later.

Our little sheltie, responds to Hughie got frightened and ran from Trysull this evening towards the canal and womborne. If your around that area, please look out for him and let us know if you see him. Desperately worried, hes just had an operation and doesnt know the area. Please phone 07866 504119 or 07799163002

I've suggested all the usual things to them Claire, as DogsLost page is down. He looks a much loved dog from their facebook page. So worrying!

yipee yipee  yipee   So pleased to hear Hughie is already safely back home with his wonderful loving new family   hugs

I know from my own past experience just how quickly Shelties can panic and take flight, they can go quicker than the blink of an eye even when they are in familiar settings with long term owners  Wink

Thanks Guys. It was a stressful night and following day. So thankful that it was less than a day. It seems lots of missing dogs take weeks to find.

He'd hidden himself in the local salvage yard just on the other side of the fence where he disappeared into. He panicked and bolted while Amy was talking to local resident. He started by just giving him a wide berth). We spent all night searching. We even travelled to 6 miles away and 10 miles away for a possible sightings from Facebook (can't have been him though).

So pleased to have him back. It was the same day he'd had his op. Which thankfully was fine. He was covered in oil so has had a lot of fur trimmed away from his legs. He seems very happy to be home :) xxx

Ps. We baked a well deserved cake for the lovely staff at the salvage yard who found him and cut him free from the brambles and wrapped him up warm in their jumpers.

Thank you for sharing the 'home' pictures James. Thank goodness he was found so quickly, can't begin to imagine what people go through when their dogs are missing for weeks. It's obvious from your wedding photo how much your dogs mean too you. I'm a sucker for a happy ending  Very Happy.

Hope Hughie  is now settled safe and well  and settles to loving family life.
Love the photos  and hope all goes well for his full recovery from his  op.
Shelties  can soon bolt and panic  even in well known area or with familiar family.
Now you can all go forward and enjoy a loving life....... A lucky little dog.

So pleased you got him back home unhurt, I lost my first sheltie over 40 years ago now he dashed out of my Mothers house where we had left him for half a day he was missing for 9 days and the relief when we found him I can't tell you so I know what it is like, he won't leave your side now. Give him lots of cuddles.
