You certainly have "jumped through hoops" to give a new home to Willie.
So pleased to hear your first meeting with him went well.
Good luck with the final stage of the adoption and wishing you all a lovely time together as a family  cheers

Thank you all for your good wishes.  The rescue has actually been quite accomodating.  We didn't need to take the dogs to meet him which is part of their system.  When the volunteer comes on Wednesday to home check he is bringing Willie with him to meet the dogs.

Saturday will be completing the forms and bringing him home.  The paperwork says allow up to 2 hours but I doubt it will be that long.  Our interview was more like a chat amongst doggy friends.

They don't know anything about him as he was not chipped and no-one came forward to claim him.  He was found in north London.

Wednesday is a formality as we have been told that he is ours.  They need to make sure that the fence is OK!  I reminded them that we have a chihuahua so no holes!

Willie came for a visit today.  He liked the girls even though they are spayed!  Was told off in no uncertain terms.  Pippin felt he needed to explain to him that he would be bottom of the pack and shouldn't try anything!

They were very good after that, all took titbits nicely.  I felt sad to see him go back in the van but he was quite happy.  The volunteer who brought him said it was the first time he had seen his tail wag.

We collect him Saturday.

Such a positive visit and if Willie understands what an exciting, loving family he will join. Bet his tail will wag  even in his sleep. Saturday will be a special day and know he will have a lovely home  and secure future. Hope the girls enjoy having a doggy brother   and he soon knows the pecking order.
Look forward to seeing photos and the next part of his new life.

When Willie came to visit he was coughing a bit.  They had told me he has a grade 3 heart murmur.  I spoke with the adoption officer today and the vets have upgraded the murmur to 5, they said it was a 'heart' cough.  Poor wee soul.  They have said that it may just be stress and when settled it could improve.

The vets will see him in a month free of charge and if he needs tablets I will get them cost price.  They appreciate it is a long way to go and do not expect me to go back, but offer the service as he was diagnosed while in their care.
I will be seeing the vet tomorrow when we collect the little chap.

Thank you for all your good wishes.  It will be fun being back to 6 dogs again!!

WILLIE IS HOME  We had a long journey yesterday and arrived home at 7pm last night.  Told off by the others for misbehaving.  He is already learning to respect them.

Went to his first fun show today with three of the others.  Came 5th out of 29 in handsome dog!  He was a star, everyone asked how old 'the puppy' was. They couldn't believe he is 9yrs old.

Will update with photos in other section.
