Lost Sheltie Lincoln

Post by Sheltieuk on Thu 03 Apr 2014, 08:55

From Facebook:-

MISSING

Please help!
A street seller left my mums gate open on Saturday afternoon in Branston, Lincoln and her dog wondered off.
Her name is Poppy, she will be 3 years old in July, she was wearing a multi coloured collar with red and green in it.
My mum is devastated as the dog is her companion and best friend. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Please share.

Very upsetting - I do hope she is found soon.

I had to give our window cleaner a rocket when he left our gate open one day - he knows we've got dogs and he has dogs himself!

oh no,  I do hope and pray that she's found soon.  crying  does facebook indicate whether they've got doglost on board and taken any other measures like leafleting etc?  Hopefully they'll get some help from local dog lovers to search for her.   tissue

Some people don't think !!! My neighbour nearly always leaves my side gate undone when she brings her wheelie bin out. Keep thinking about putting a sign on the gate but don't want to end up with her not speaking to us.
Hope you soon find your little dog

Hope Poppy is soon found.   Like most of you have said I get very cross when peole leave gates wide open which was shut when they entered your property.  The other day I had a parcel delivered and as he went through the gate not intending to close it behind him I called out and asked him to close the gate behind which he did.   The dustbin men never shut gates behind them thank goodness we have a side gate  with a lock om it.

it is just the same when any workmen come to the house to do repairs etc, they ALWAYS leave the front door wide open, apart from letting the dogs out..  it makes the house so cold !!!

Hope Poppy is found soon, and hopefully already reunited in her home. She is a pretty little girl.
Words cannot describe the worry .
My window cleaner always locks the gate , but some tradespeople not so considerate.

doesn't appear to be any further news yet though.

makes you wonder who the 'street seller' was, and if they have anything to do with her disappearance?  It must be agonizing for the owner.  tissue

Do hope she is soon found, bless her.
I know how the owner feels, years ago a boarding kennels lost our girl Sophie, the day after my mum's funeral, can't tell you the anguish we felt and this was before microchips.
Luckily she was found two days later 36 miles away by a council dog warden trapped in wire but ok.
So my heart goes out to the owners of Poppy and here's hoping for good news soon

I hope Poppy is found soon. I feel for them. I would be devastated if any of mine were to disappear.

I'm paranoid about gates and doors being left open. I always pick Breeze up and check all doors and gates before putting her down after workmen have been in. We are in the process of putting a fence up round the front of our bungalow and I am going to put a spring on to the gate so that it shuts behind anyone who enters and leaves. Especially worthwhile since grandson has a habit of leaving the front door open when he comes in from school (usually because granddad is a long way behind and he's left it open for him  scared2
