FOUND male sheltie - South Yorkshire

Post by Hillhenry on Tue 27 Nov 2012, 13:53

My vets have called me as the dog warden has brought in a male sable and white sheltie. He was found in the Oxspring area. They tell me he is terribly thin, in need of a bath and is frightened. They also think he is old. The vet is taken him home with him for the time being but I am on standby to foster him. If anyone can help or has any information please contact me.

Thank you

It couldn't possibly be Bailey that has been missing for over a year, although he was described as a young male?

Thanks Nina - Bailey is microchipped too so you'd think that would have been checked.

Hi everyone

I have been to visit the dog. He is a young, rich mahogany sable. He is terribly thin and his fur is matted, though he adores people. My vets are keeping him in over night so he can have a further bath and a good groom. I will then foster him, although I will ring Sheltie rescue tonight (I've got four others and I'm not sure how they would react to a newbie).

I'm afraid I'm a bit of a technological dinosaur, but if you look either on my facebook page, or the Sheltie clubs of Yorkshire and Northern Counties I have posted photos of him on there.

Thank you everyone. Fingers crossed we have a happy ending.

Bless him. So glad he is somewhere dry and safe. Hopefully his owners will be found soon. If not I am sure there is someone out there able to give a home to him. He looks lovely.

Thank you for putting the photos of him on here

I don't think the pictures do his colour justice. He definitely is not golden or shaded, so yes possibly orange or mahogany. Whatever it may be, it is a beautiful, rich colour.

I am overwhelmed with how much the sheltie community are pulling out all the stops for this beautiful boy.
